On the night when all the ‘ulema’ and erudite theologians had gathered in Ayatollah Golpayegany’s (a senior theologian) residence, I was given a piece of information which I thought was necessary to communicate to Imam Khomeini immediately. For this reason, I went there and told the Imam that: “Aqa (Sir), I have received information that it is likely that they want to arrest you tonight. The regime wants that you all gather together in one place to swoop down on you and arrest all of you at once. The Imam responded: “let them take me away (arrest me) but others be outside (the prison) and work for (the cause of) Islam.”
