Summit discusses social responsibility from viewpoint of Imam Khomeini

An intellectual gathering has been held in the historic city of Khomein to discuss the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic on the topic of social responsibility, which is vital for introducing the core message of the Islamic Revolution across the globe.

The ceremony in historic city of Khomein was attended by intellectuals and professors from universities and seminaries. 

Addressing the ceremony, Ahmad Meshkini, an expert on Imam Khomeini's political thought, explained Imam’s ideals on social responsibility and participation.  

He also further explained that religion has also individual and social perspectives which have been well explained through works of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution.

The scholar said Imam was heavily relied on people before and after the victory of Islamic revolution and their interests formed his priorities in various fields. 

Elsewheere in his remarks, citing an example during the struggle for the Islamic Revolution, the scholar said, that Imam didn’t ask people to withdraw money from banks because it could result in their loss.  

A week is launched each year on birth anniversary of Imam Khomeini and a series of programs are organized by the institute across various Iranian cities to promote the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic

Imam, who established an Islamic democratic system in Iran, remains popular among the world Muslims and oppressed nations of the world due to his stance against global arrogance

Ruhollah Mousavi was born to Ayatollah Seyyed Mostafa Musavi and Hajieh Khanum on 20 Jamadi al-Akhir 1320/ 24 September 1902, the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Fatima (‘a), in the small town of Khomein, some 160 kilometers to the southwest of Qum.

He was the child of a family with a long tradition of religious scholarship. His ancestors, descendants of Imam Musa al-Kazim, the seventh Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt.

Imam had well command over a range of Islamic and interdisciplinary fields such as jurisprudence, philosophy, mysticism and poetry. Several of his works are translated more than 20 living languages over the past few years.
